APPLICATION NOTE: USING TWO 1784-PCD CARDS IN THE SAME PC
---------------------------------------------------------
On Windows 2000 and Windows XP, two 1784-PCD cards can be used in the same PC.
Two 1784-PCD cards may also be used on Windows NT if the proper Plug and Play
service has been installed. Refer to the 1784-PCD Installation Manual
for more information.

Only one 1784-PCD card can be used on a Windows 95, Windows 98 or
Windows Me system.

There are two cases where two 1784-PCD cards may be used:

CASE 1: One application needs to use both 1784-PCD cards.

For example, two 1784-PCD cards could be used by RSLinx to browse two
separate DeviceNet networks. Note that the two RSLinx 1784-PCD driver
instances could also be used by other applications: RSNetWorx for DeviceNet
   for example.

In this case, you should install the two 1784-PCD cards before starting the
application. If a second 1784-PCD card is installed after the first has
been configured by the application, the application will not have access to
the second 1784-PCD card. However, the second 1784-PCD card could be
accessed by another application. See CASE 2 below.

Remember that any applications that communicate with the 1784-PCD driver
via RSLinx, are actually considered to be one application, RSLinx. So,
for example, if you want to run two instances of RSNetWorx, you should
install both PCD cards before either one is configured by RSLinx.

CASE 2: Two applications need to use the 1784-PCD cards.

   Examples:
      - RSLinx uses one 1784-PCD card while the DeviceNet TA
(version 1.07 and later) uses the other.
      - RSLinx uses one 1784-PCD card while PCD_Test uses the other.

For these examples you should take the following steps:
   1) Install the first 1784-PCD card.
   2) Configure the first 1784-PCD card in the first application.
   3) Install the second 1784-PCD card.
   4) Configure the second 1784-PCD card in the second application.
